Literary Connections Blog Category: Description, Purpose, Plan, Request
1. The Description
This blog category is simply a running record of literary examples encountered daily in our modern world by NoOrdinaryEnglishTeacher . We use the word “example” and not “allusion” because some items mentioned may not directly reference anything concrete; they may only loosely remind us of things we learned in our English classes. Either way, that stuff is out there and NoOrdinaryEnglishTeacher wants to document it exists.
2. The Purpose
This website claims to celebrate and demonstrate literature’s affect on our modern world — there is no better way to do this than keep a running list of LITERARY CONNECTIONS we notice each day. Many people, perhaps including some of us, think they never use the English class material they learned about in school. This blog category was created to help prove otherwise.
3. The Plan
Several times a week, as she discovers them, NoOrdinaryEnglishTeacher will update readers about LITERARY CONNECTIONS she observes in her own life; these could range from the silly to the serious, to all things in between. Friendly discussion and appropriate commenting about posted topics is appreciated.
4. The Request
Something that makes literature so exciting is that we will all never agree about everything; but remember, LiteratureIsNotExtinct is designed to be a supportive site that encourages others to notice literature at work in their lives. Please be your politest selves as you discuss.
